Visual Narrative in Documentary

Shooting many award winning documentaries has led us to develop a previsualisation process for the visual narrative of a documentary in pre-production, this often leads to delivery of the commonly required trailer.

The collaboration process in documentary is of particular interest to us and has offered many opportunities recently to develop appropriate styles using tools ranging from drama approaches to DV observational and formal widescreen looks.

This work processed from a trailer to short documentary which screened at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival - and is developing into a long form doc returning to the region to chart the impact of industrialisation.

How to Save a Fish from Drowning
